There are many benefits of applying sunscreen for instance It can save you from sunburn, Pigmentation, Hyperpigmentation even ageing.

Why Should I Wear A Sunscreen Even At Home

Remember the rule “when in doubt, always wear sunscreen”.
According to the American Cancer Society, the glass which Is used in car, home or office windows are designed to block most UVB rays, but it does not offer protection from all UVA rays. So even if you’re indoors, and close the window you still have a chance of the risk of exposure to UVA rays and possible skin damage.

80% Rays can pass through clouds, so it increases the chances of sunburns/ damages.

Know Everything About UV Rays

The ultraviolet light that penetrates our skin is made up of three types of radiations
UVA
UVB
UBC
1. UVA- It has the longest wavelength that reaches deep into the layers of skin, causing against wrinkles, ageing and pigmentation.
2. UVB- it has the largest impact on the top layer of skin. it causes redness, burning and skin cancer.
3. UVC- The shortest wavelength. it absorbed by the atmosphere.

What Does SPF Measures?

SPF stands for sun protection factor. It measures how well a sunscreen will protect skin from Ultraviolet(UB) Rays.
suppose if your skin would normally burn after 10 minutes in the sun, Applying 15 an SPF sunscreen would allow you to stay in the sun without burning for 150 minutes (15*10).

Though Its roughly estimated that Depends on skin type, skin color , intensity of sunlight and amount of sunscreen you applied.

For the best result expert believes use SPF 30; applying proper amount and Proper time (like apply Sunscreen in every 2 hours).
If you apply 30 SPF then it will protect you 20UVB and 10 UVA.

Many people under apply sunscreens, using 1/4th or half amount of sunscreen , only provide protection the square root of the SPF. For instance SPF 30 then (30)1/4th
ideally apply one gram of sunscreen to protect against sun damages.

High SPFs such as SPF 75, SPF 100 do not offer greater protection but it mislead people.

SPF 15 Blocks 93% of UVB
SPF 30 Blocks 97% of UVB
SPF 50 Blocks 98% of UVB

What Is PA?

PA is known as a Protection Grade of UVA.
SPF measures only UVB Protection while PA rating Only measures UVA Protections.
So Protecting yourself from both the UVA & UVB rays is very important.

Pa rating system was established in Japan as a informing consumer of the degree of protection provided by sunscreen.

Rating systems are as follow

PA+ Some UVA Protection
PA++ Moderate UVA Protection
PA+++ High UVA Protection
PA++++ Extremely High UVA Protection
For Protecting Your self from sunburn/damages Ideally Use Of combination Sunscreen.

One of the notable reasons for hair fall is to understand deeply about this menace of hair fall, one needs to know about the hair scalps, about which the advertising companies blabber about. There are four kinds of scalps – normal, dry, oily, and one a combination of all. For dry hair, one needs to take certain precautions, upon which this blog will enlighten you.

you will get an answer to all your problems, in this article we will discuss the characteristics of oily scalp and how we can overcome this.
One of the significant things, in order to find out suitable shampoo or any other hair products for your hairs, is to identify your hair scalp type either you have oily or dry hair. Without knowing this there is a possibility you might using wrong shampoo or any other product it can cause you some serious sufferings as hair falls and irritation etc.

“The hair is the richest ornament of women.” – Martin Luther

Symptoms of oily hair
Mostly symptoms included pimples on the scalp, a higher level of dihydrotestosterone DHT,
the oily appearance of hairs, stringing, and itchy scalps too.

you will get an or cold water to wash your hair, it reduces the damage of your hair; warm or hot water stimulates the sebaceous glands, which can damage your hairs.

  1. Brushing your hair well, it will distribute the grease through your strands.
  2. Do not over-wash your hairs, it can irritate the scalp and can damage your hairs.
  3. Include a sufficient amount of vitamin B in your diet; it plays a vital role in hair growth, your intake of vitamin B directly correlate to sebum production
  4. An excess buildup of oil on the scalp can lead to dandruff; for dandruff wash your hair regularly with anti-dandruff shampoo or with salicylic acid. For dandruff, you can also try safe home remedies such as tea tree oil, cider vinegar and those natural ingredients which have anti-fungal and antibacterial properties.
  5. Consult your dermatologist if the problem is unmanageable.
  6. Avoid using of harsh chemicals.
  7. Avoid greasy or sticky products like gels, hairspray and much use of straightening and hair drier.                     In the next article, we will give the best shampoo for hair

Well, since time immemorial, we have been struggling with our hair. We want the shine and volume like every other pretty actress who comes across in the huge screens. Nevertheless, shampoo and conditioner are not some avocado and toast, which suits all of us at the same time. However, for hair care, the First step is to know about your scalp and hair type and use the shampoos & conditioner accordingly. In this article, we will discuss the rare type of scalp “Combination Scalp”.
There are four major hair–types:
1.Oily
2.Dry
3.Normal
4.Combination

Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.” Coco Chanel.

Wondering how to understand if you have this tricky hair–type?
Here, I have provided a list of points that might help you in your long self–care battle! Let us have a look at it
.

  1. If you have a combination scalp, you need two kinds of care for your hair and scalp separately. At least wash the hair twice a week. You can apply shampoo gently on the scalp as it is oily, but you can leave out the hair strands. You need to apply conditioner at the tips of the hair. Therefore, your scalp will be clear, and the strand of hair will remain moisturized. In combination-type hair, hair-tips become dry so to keep it moisture-locked, we need to hydrate it.
  2. Shampooing at least thrice a week will undoubtedly reduce your hair fall.
  3. Now comes a crucial stage- combing your hair. I suggest that if you have a combination-type hair and scalp, then you should have a different type of comb. If you have straight hair, then use a bristle paddle brush, and if it has frizzy and curly then use a wooden comb.
  4. Stop using hair-drier as soon as possible. Alternatively, reduce the amount of usage, since it dries up your hair-ends and your hair-tips might break and damage. If you apply it on the scalp, the sebum (which is the natural oil) level will also decrease. If you have an emergency and cannot get out without blow-drying, then keep the temperature at low mode or use cooler temperatures.
  5. Oiling – Oiling is the most important part of hair growth and giving that lustrous shine. If you have combination hair, simply at the strand/end of hair use warm oil and massage it.
  6. Having a proper and maintained balanced diet is another factor to concentrate on. Consuming a balanced diet with minerals and supplements will help in thickening and growing of your hair.
  7. Avoid your hair from getting exposed to the sun. It’s harmful to your hair as you have combination hair; your hair will become dull and it also affects producing of the sebum.
  8. For increasing the production of sebum, have food rich in Vitamin A like carrots, tomatoes, green leaf, and dairy products. It will help to maintain the sebum production.
  9. Stay away from chemical treatments such as colouring, perming, etc.
  10. Choose shampoo very carefully as you have a combination of types of hair. Use a mild shampoo; which is a pH balanced shampoo. Do not shampoo more than thrice a week.
  11. To keep your hair free of split-ends; trim your hair regularly.
  12. Use olive oil or jojoba oil, and gently massage it on your hair. It helps to keep hair moisture-locked for days.
  13. Deep conditioning treatment is best for dry and frizzy hair. You can try it at home, too. The method is to apply conditioner on hair end and wrapping up your hair with a wet warm towel to keep it moisturized.
  14. Have patience and watch the miracle happen
Let me know, how useful you found this to be. Hope this made the search for perfect products for your combination-type hair a bit easier.

Normal Dry Oily Combination Hair and scalp

When it comes to hair, it’s one of the important things which can increase your beauty and confidence. Well, one of the major roles for hair fall is hair shampoo. There are many harmful chemicals in the shampoo which is harmful to hair and health too.

The overall chemical composition of hair is
42 to 45 % carbon appx,
26 to 28 % oxygen appx,
14 to15 % nitrogen appx,
6 to7 % hydrogen appx and
4 to 5 % sulphur appx.

The hair shaft is essentially composed of keratin. So keratin treatment is very important. Hair keratin is hard, compact and strong. This fibrous protein is gradually formed inside cells from the germinal layer.
After having brief insights about our hair contents, now let me throw some light on chemicals/compounds that may hinder your hair’s growth and in a worst-case scenario may affect our health-giving rise to various diseases.
1.sulfates
2.parabens
3.polyethylene Glycols (PEG)
4.Phthalates
5. Formaldehyde
6. Triclosan
7.Dimethicone
8.Retinyl palmitate
9.Alcohol
10.Fragrances
11. Colours
12.Toluene
13.Resorcinol
l14.Selenium sulfide
15. Quaternium-15

1. Sulfates;- it is used for cleaning dirt and excess natural oil which is produced by your body’s sebaceous (it’s called sebum) from hair. These surfactants like SLS, SLES, ALS  etc are very harmful chemical which can damage your hair and hormone disruptors if it is used for perpetuated periods.

2.Parabens -It is used by manufacturers for preservatives purposes which are called parabens. They avert bacteria. Parabens have many types but in shampoos widely used parabens are butyl, propyl and ethyl parabens, clinically it does not prove but it can increase the risk of breast cancer.

3.polyethylene Glycols (PEG)-It is not proved yet that PEG is toxic, but hair experts believe that PEG can have a damaging effect on your scalp. Polyethene glycol is spin-off petroleum that is used as a thickener

4. Phthalates-If your shampoo has this content, please just avoid using your shampoo.it is the most harmful chemical which can cause infertility amongst us. It is used to increase the density/volume of a product. It is used for shampoo to stay intact to the scalp.

5. formaldehyde- It is used as preservatives. The main problem with this chemical is that it is absorbed by your skin and in the long term, it can give skin disease. Bronopol, imidazolidinyl urea, DMDM hydantoin, quaternion-15 and Diazolidinyl urea are all formaldehyde releasers.

6. Triclosan-Again I would recommend discarding using your shampoo if it contains triclosan chemical because it is a hormone disruptor and it is believed that it gets amassed with your fat cells which makes your body prone to toxicity. Triclosan has some benefits as well as it is used as content for anti-bacteria in soaps /shampoo.

7. Dimethicone-It acts as a protective layer to the hair shaft also it prevents moisture from entering the hair. On contrary to this it can also cause scalp irritation by clogging the pores.

8. Retinyl palmitate-It is used as an antioxidant, Retinyl palmitate contains vitamin A in alcohol form. Its disadvantages can be skin itching, redness, peeling, it is known to cause cancer and generate problems to various organs.

9. Alcohol-Alcohol can make your hair dry. It is used as a thickener in the shampoo /conditioner. Bad alcohol, SD Alcohol 40, Propyl Alcohol can make your scalp strand. It keeps away moisturizer from your scalp.

10. Fragrances-Added synthetic/ artificial fragrances in the shampoo/soaps can be the reason for cancers, asthma attacks and sometimes reproductive issues. It also affects your scalp and therefore there is a possibility of hair fall. If you have sensitive skin then you should avoid fragrances as it can give you a major headache.

11Toluene.This chemical is found on nail polish, shampoo, hair mask, conditioners. It is also known as benzene, methylbenzene, phenylmethane and toluene. It is the most toxic chemical in the market and we should avoid using this chemical as below issues can be caused
1. Damages the fetus at the development stages.
2.it also affects the central nervous system.

13. Resorcinol-Basically, it is used in hair dye and permanent hair colour. If it is used in excess then it can affect the immune system and disrupt the endocrine system.

14. Selenium sulfide is an antifungal medicine, it prevents fungus from growing in your skin so it is used for dandruff treatment. Skin irritation, dry hair can surface due to its use.

15. Quaternium-15-It is also used as preservatives. a quaternary ammonium salt used as a surfactant and preservative in many cosmetics and industrial substances.
Cons
1. it is a possible eye irritant
2. It is known as a human skin toxicant
